Aloha Parents & Students,

We are almost to the end.  I’m sure many of you are enjoying your Spring Break.

I wanted to give everyone the break down for the next two months.  We’ve been having problems with the website so it’s even less up-to-date than it normally is.  However the calendar on GoogleDocs has been updated:

Here is the calendar from now until May 19^th:

Tomorrow, Saturday, March 30^th : Easter Egg Stuffing – 11am in Bachelot Hall. The more people we have come, the less time it will take.  This is also counting as community service toward Confirmation.

Sunday, March 31^st – Easter Sunday – Easter Egg Hunt after the 9am mass.  If you are able to, please come around 9am to help spread the eggs out in the courtyard.  Also – we need an Easter Bunny.  Please text me to let me know if you can do it.

Sunday, April 7^th – Interview Day 1 – 2pm – 430pm

Sunday, April 14^th – Interview Day 2 – 2pm – 430pm

Sunday, April 21^st – Interview Day 3 – 3pm – 430pm

Sunday, April 28^th – NO CLASS – I will be off-island at a conference

Sunday, May 5^th – MANDATORY YEAR 2 ONLY RETREAT – It will only be a day-long retreat starting at 830am and ending with 5pm mass at Sacred Heart.  More details to come.

Sunday, May 12^th – CLASS FOR EVERYONE INCLUDING PARENTS – Please keep in mind that Father Gordie will be holding this class as it is very important.

Sunday, May 19^th – CONFIRMATION – Year 2 students and sponsors please arrive around 330pm.  Year 1 students, please come at 430pm – this is also mandatory for you.  Mass is at 5pm.

Year 2 Students, Parents & Sponsors – Please read the following information as it is specifically for you:

1. YEAR 2 BISHOP LETTERS DUE AT YOUR INTERVIEW WITH ME.  Please download the attached PDFs (Confirmation Letterhead & Sample) to get started.  Please turn it in ON TIME (no later than the time of your interview with me) as I need to submit it to the Bishop’s Office.

2. You also need to CHOOSE A SAINT NAME by the time of your interview with me – please stick to your gender as this is what Father Gary Secor will be calling you when you are receiving the sacrament of Confirmation.  My suggestion is look up Patron saints of things you are interested in or want to be when you grow up (i.e. you can choose the Patron Saint of students – St. Thomas Aquinas – if you like to learn a lot of things).  Please complete the attached Saint Name worksheet WITH YOUR SPONSOR (disregard the due date on the worksheet.  It is due at the time of your interview).

3. There were no opportunities to have an overnight retreat which is actually the requirement in order to be confirmed.  The retreat on May 5^th is taking the place of an overnight retreat and it is very important so please adjust your schedules as necessary.  If you are not able to come you may not be able to get confirmed.  Please let me know and I will speak with Father Gordie about your situation.

4. INTERVIEWS WITH FATHER GORDIE: Please email Auntie Carmela at cmarcos-yago@mp-cc.net in order to schedule your interview with Father Gordie.  Yes – you will have TWO interviews: one with me during one of the above dates and then the 2^nd with Father Gordie as scheduled with Auntie Carmela

5. CONFIRMATION SPONSORS: Attached you’ll find your confirmation sponsor form.  Please turn your 2 worksheets (the first one you got and the Saint Name one) as well as your Sponsor Form at the time of your interview with me if possible.

Please keep in mind that just about EVERYTHING is due at the time of your scheduled interview with me.

Join the Confirmation Class and the rest of our faithful citizens on Saturday, January 26th at the March for Life Rally.  There will be games, guest speakers, music and most importantly, a celebration of life.  Transportation via school bus will be provided to and from the State Capitol.  Please sign email Miss Annie so we can get an idea of how many people will be coming.

Our nation mourns a great loss and our state says goodbye to an island treasure.  Say a prayer today for the victims and families in Newtown, Connecticut and the family of Senator Daniel Inouye.  We wait and pray with hope as we know you are all with our heavenly Father.
