EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS: Click here for the January 2012 Ministry Schedule

What is the Eucharistic Ministry?

The Eucharistic Ministry functions as “official assistants” in the celebration of the Eucharist authorized by Pope Paul VI to complement and extend the ministry due to the declining number of clergy.  Eucharistic Ministers or Special Ministers of the Eucharist assist by sharing the Body and Blood of Christ so that fellow worshipers in the assembly, those who are physically unable to attend mass or are in medical facilities can benefit from sacramental help and consolation.

Who can join?

Any registered member of St. Pius X or Sacred Heart who has celebrated all three Sacraments of Initiation and free of serious sin is welcome to be a Eucharistic Minister.

Click here to fill out our inquiry form if you are interested in becoming a Eucharistic Minister.

What are the opportunities?

To participate in the stewardship of service to God by assisting the clergy in the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ

To share fellowship with other ministry members

To enrich understanding and appreciation of the role and responsibilities of this ministry

When do they meet?

Eucharistic Ministers are trained individually usually at a regularly scheduled mass.  If you are interested in becoming a Eucharistic Minister, click here to submit your information or you can email us directly if you have specific questions.
