What is the Hospitality Ministry?

The Hospitality Ministry is a “ministry of welcome” made of two different ministries that serve the same purposes: welcome and fellowship.

Our Special Events Ministry often helps with food and refreshments either for big events like workshops and missions or smaller gatherings like after-mass refreshments and special occasions such as First Communion or Easter.

Who can join?

Anyone who doesn’t mind kitchen work, a little hard labor and doesn’t mind giving their time on the weekends is more than welcome to join.

Our Usher Ministers are the first persons parishioners and visitors see when they come to our churches.  Aside from greeting our parishioners and visitors with shell leis before mass, the ushers assist late-comers in finding open seats and “directing traffic” during mass.  They also handle the baskets during collection time as well as choose or volunteer to bring up the gifts during offertory.

Who can join?

Anyone with a friendly smile, knowledge of the parish and willingness to help out is always welcome to be an usher.

What are the opportunities?

These ministries are the first faces of our church that parishioners will encounter.  As part of the welcoming parish, an opportunity to invite people to come back to church the following week is offered simply by you being a welcoming and friendly person.
