LECTORS: Click here for the January 2012 Ministry Schedule

What is the Lector Ministry?

Lectoring is an act of proclamation.  The lector becomes the instrument that worthily proclaims the Good News of salvation.  Through this ministry the lector becomes more familiar with the Bible.  Lectors find themselves in love with the Word and in love with the people to whom they speak.

Who can join?

Any parishioner who is fully initiated into the church and is able to speak clearly and be understood is welcome.

If you are not fully initiated, click her to read about our R.C.I.A. program.

What are the opportunities?

Through the lector, God’s living Word is proclaimed to His people.  Lectors are instruments of God.  The work they do requires preparation and training.  The personal involvement with the texts and all other details that make an assembly want to listen instead of reading along in their missalettes.

When do they meet?

Lectors do not have a “scheduled practice”.

You can email our Lector Coordinator or fill out and submit your information here if you are interested in lectoring during our regularly scheduled masses.

THANK YOU for your interest in our Lector Ministry!
