You can be a “Ding Dong,” too!

Sacred Heart Adult Choir
(pictured above)
Given Mass: Sunday, 9:00am
Rehearsal Days & Times: Wednesday, 6:30pm and Saturday, 8:30am
The Sacred Heart Adult Choir has been the “old faithful” choir of Sacred Heart. Although its members are the “wisest of the wise,” anyone and everyone aged 18 and over are welcome to join the fun little group. Rehearsals are not required, though they do help, and every courtesy and accommodation is given to ensure that you are welcome. If you are interested in joining the adult choir, your goal is very simple: come up to the choir loft at 8:30am on Sunday! Otherwise, please email Annie Llamedo or call and leave a message at 973-2211 extension 27.
Sacred Heart Contemporary Choir
Given Mass: Sunday, 5:00pm
Rehearsal Day & Time: Sunday, 4:00pm (prior to mass unless otherwise specified)
The Contemporary Choir was first known as “The Life Teen” Choir when the program began in our parish in 1997. Since then it has evolved into the Contemporary Christian Choir with repertoire from artists like Matt Maher, Michael W. Smith, Ray Boltz and many others. Joining the choir is as simple as walking up the stairs and taking an empty seat at 4:00pm before mass on Sundays. We are a rather loud group so if you prefer a more comfortable approach, please contact the Music Ministry director.
Sacred Heart Cantors
Given Masses: (most in need are) Saturday, 5:00pm; Sunday, 7:00am and 11:00am
Rehearsal Days & Times:
If you would like to cantor for the Sunday, 9am mass, please come to the Adult Choir Rehearsals if possible. An initial meeting with our Music Director is required to square away some information and schedule a one-on-one rehearsal if you think you need it. Otherwise, rehearsals will potentially be prior to the mass you are assigned to with the scheduled accompanist.
Being a cantor at Sacred Heart, or at any parish for that matter, is just as important as a lector or a Eucharistic Minister or any lay person of the church. The cantor is especially noticed since they are the music leaders for the entire mass. Whether you have a great voice or an “okay” voice by your standards – if you feel God is calling you to the ministry, don’t fight it! Come and be where God is calling you to be.
THANK YOU for your interest in our Music Ministries!
